“Aurum” is a blast. Pantokrator deliver 10 bullets of breathtaking Deathmetal spit out in technical perfection.

Producer Rickard Bengtsson (Arch Enemy, Spiritual Beggars) created a massive soundwall which generates maximal power. Deep midtempo symphonies are contrasted by doublebass driven neckbreakers. “Aurum” is a challenging travel which culminates in “the hidden treasure” crowned by the atmospheric voice of guest voice Lina Holmström. Pantokrator creates an atmosphere of aggression and deep thought wrapped in a conceptual artwork and performed by a band in its best shape ever.

Mattias Johansson - guitar
Karl Walfridsson - vocals
Rickard Gustafsson - drums
Jonas Wallinder - bass
Jonathan Jansson - guitar

Pantokrator is a Swedish death metal band formed in 1996. The band has released an EP, two studio albums, and a compilation album. The band's sound is old school death metal with progressive and technical elements; their lyrics contain Biblical themes from a Christian point of view.

After recording two demos, a demo mini-CD, and a self-released compilation, Pantokrator got their break in 2001 by playing at the reputable Swedish metal festival Bobfest, and appeared on the national TV in a short report of this festival. After an independently released EP, Songs of Solomon, they signed with Rivel Records, which released their first full-length album, Blod, in 2002. The Scandinavian music and media magazine Monster gave Blod 4/5, and the German magazine Rock Hard gave it 7/10. A second album, Aurum, was released on the German label Whirlwind Records; in the USA, it was distributed by Open Grave Records.

A music video for "Divine Light" (found on Songs of Solomon) appeared on the rare video compilation Power from the Sky from Rivel Records. The band has played at the Gates of Metal festival, a major Swedish hard rock and metal music event, with acts such as Dimmu Borgir and Edguy. The band is one of five Christian metal bands featured in the 2008 documentary Light in Darkness - Nemesis Divina, which investigates Christian black metal music, the so-called unblack metal.
