Featuring the unmistakable voice of John Schlitt, who would later become the legendary lead vocalist of Petra, this nine-track album delivers the energetic, radio-friendly sound that made Head East a favorite among classic rock fans throughout the 1970s. Standout tracks include "Specialty," "Keep a Secret," "Feelin' Is Right," "Got to Be Real," and "Hard Drivin' Days," combining driving rock anthems with memorable melodies and polished arrangements.

Released on A&M Records and produced by Jeff Glixman, A Different Kind of Crazy features the classic Head East lineup of John Schlitt on lead vocals, Mike Somerville on guitar, Roger Boyd on keyboards, Dan Birney on bass, and Steve Huston on drums. The album showcases the band's musical chemistry, with rich vocal harmonies, powerful rhythm sections, and the kind of infectious songwriting that helped define late-1970s American arena rock. It also holds special significance as the final Head East studio album featuring John Schlitt before his departure from the band and his eventual rise to prominence with Petra. An excellent addition to any Head East, John Schlitt, Petra, AOR, melodic rock, or vintage vinyl collection.

Key Collector
