Listening to Blenderheads' Figureheads on the Forefront of Pop Culture, you can't help but wonder if all the songs were written in one afternoon. Suprisingly, the disc is a culmination of two years worth of efforts. Most of the melodies appear spastic and unattached while lyrically many cuts seem to be an inside joke. Looking for redeeming qualities, "You Know Who You Are" is apt rock & roll with some nice signature changes. "Monotone" is an instrumental with a serious bite that features an eerie bassline with excellent guitar interplay. This release has been touted as the return of the band after a five-year hiatus. Sometimes retirement is a good thing.
