DESCRIPTION

A bulldozer is equipped to push large quantities of dirt, refuse, trash and rocks.  When you listen to the 1990 debut of Halo, it feels like a bulldozer of hard rock ready to bully and push through darkness and despair.  That’s what fueled HALO (HEAVENLY ANGELIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA) to tour non-stop in order to reach people with the good news. With angelic AOR choruses, relentless and driving guitars, and a tightness you could only expect from a band together for a decade, the debut Halo album checks all the boxes for a classic that transcends any rock and roll era.

The band launched way back in 1980, and were together for close to a decade before a chance meeting at a Petra concert.  Bob Hartman (Petra) was not supposed to have time to meet Halo. Providence intervened, and the band handed Bob a cassette with some music. The band would later get an infamous call from Bob Hatman (Petra), who invited them into his home studio to record a 4-song demo, later presenting it to John Elefante of Pakaderm Records. This debut album would wow fans of AOR and classic rock as the perfect fit for fans of Def Leppard, Journey, Petra, Whiteheart, Giant, and Mastedon!

This 30th Anniversary Edition has been remastered by audio guru, Rob Colwell of Bombworks Sound, so you know this 2020 Girder Records remaster rates as must-have ear candy.  Hard-to-Get for decades, don’t delay and grab this limited 30th Anniversary Edition.

AWESOME

This is one of the very best Christian Rock albums ever. I saw the band on this albums tour. Barry Graul had just joined the band (Graul went on to play with Whirecross and now MercyMe) when I saw HALO for the first time. If my original CD had been a cassette or vinyl, the album would be worn out. Girder re-amped this one to really show the LOUD of HALO. Scott Spinger sounds a little like Steve Perry and a lot like Paul Stanley, and would have been great for Petra if John Schlitt had left. This is worth more than the price you will pay!!!

Amazing Remastered Christian Rock

I originally discovered HALO years after their first release. Seeing they were produced by John & Dino Elefante with Bob Hartman’s (Petra) involvement it spiked my interest. The whole album ROCKS. It was years after that I found HALO - Heaven Calling. I truly love this band. After those two albums I heard nothing from them, that was until Girder Records remastered these gems. I was ecstatic! I’d never heard the Scott Springer solo album or the HALO - Life Goes On album. I had to have them. The packaging and expanded liner notes are informative with beautiful pictures and design. The remastered audio sounds amazingly crisp, clean, and well balanced.
I highly recommend HALO to anyone who is a fan of Petra, Mastodon, and any 80’s rock. Girder Records is the place to order them. Fast friendly service. Check out their whole catalog. They have so many great classic Christian Rock albums.
