"Under Lock & Key" is an almost essential release for fans of melodic rock from the 1980's. This album helped solidify Dokken as one of the top-tier rock bands from the decade. This record has everything a good 80's rock record needs. It has catchy choruses, huge production and terrific songs throughout. It doesn't hurt as well to have some of the best musicians available. "The Hunter," "In My Dreams," and "It's Not Love" are the highlights.

Metal legends Dokken followed up their promising sophomore album Tooth and Nail (1984) with masterwork Under Lock and Key a year later, hitting their creative stride and solidifying their line-up with Don Dokken (vocals), George Lynch (guitar), Jeff Pilson (bass) and Mick Brown (drums). The platinum certified effort served as the band's breakthrough in America thanks to the trio of hit singles "In My Dreams," "The Hunter" and "It's Not Love" and subsequent supporting tours with the likes of Judas Priest, AC/DC, Aerosmith, and Dio.
