Firewind is a power metal band from Greece, founded in 1998 by virtuoso guitarist Gus G. Melodic hooks, intricate guitar work, and powerful vocals made Firewind a prominent force in the European power metal scene. Gus G.'s exceptional guitar skills, coupled with his songwriting prowess, have been pivotal in shaping the band's sound over the years. Their music often features themes of resilience and inner strength which resonates deeply with fans of the genre.
Firewind solidified their reputation as masters of the power metal genre releasing 9 albums to date. Gus G.'s collaboration with various vocalists has also been notable, including renowned singers like Apollo Papathanasio and Henning Basse. In addition to his work with Firewind, Gus G. gained significant recognition through his collaboration with legendary heavy metal vocalist Ozzy Osbourne. Gus G. joined Osbourne's band in 2009, replacing longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde. His tenure with Osbourne included studio work on the album "Scream" (2010) and extensive touring worldwide. Gus G.'s dynamic guitar playing and stage presence earned him praise from both fans and critics during his time with Ozzy.
