Product Description
Originally released in 1989, In Step is the fourth studio album by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble and the final studio album released during Vaughan's lifetime. Widely regarded as one of his finest recordings, the album captures the legendary Texas blues guitarist at the height of his musical powers, delivering an electrifying combination of blistering guitar solos, soulful vocals, Texas blues, and hard-driving blues rock. Featuring classics such as "Crossfire," "Tightrope," "The House Is Rockin'," "Wall of Denial," and the breathtaking instrumental "Riviera Paradise," In Step showcases Vaughan's extraordinary talent and unmistakable guitar tone.
Released on Epic Records and produced by Jim Gaines and Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, In Step marked an important chapter in Vaughan's career, reflecting his personal recovery and renewed creative energy. The album earned a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Recording and became one of the defining blues-rock albums of the late 1980s. Backed by Double Trouble's Chris Layton, Tommy Shannon, and Reese Wynans, Vaughan delivers a masterclass in blues guitar, from the explosive opening of "The House Is Rockin'" to the smooth, jazz-influenced brilliance of "Riviera Paradise."
