Les & Joyce Carlsen Partner with Girder Records to Launch Kickstarter for New Album – A Love Story of Music, Faith, and Reinvention
Wilmington, NC – Legendary BLOODGOOD frontman Les Carlsen and his wife Joyce have officially launched a Kickstarter campaign today to fund their brand-new studio album—available on both CD and vinyl—through an exciting collaboration with Girder Records.
This project is more than just music—it’s the next chapter in a love story spanning over 50 years, rooted in creativity, faith, and an unwavering pursuit of purpose.
In 1971, Les and Joyce met while starring in the Broadway musical Hair, their voices blending as effortlessly as their dreams. From there, they poured themselves into performing, songwriting, and recording—living boldly and creatively. Years later, in a divinely orchestrated moment, each encountered Christ in a life-changing way, aligning their music and marriage with their faith.
From 1985 to 2022, Les remained on the frontlines as the voice of BLOODGOOD while Joyce contributed behind the scenes. When BLOODGOOD concluded in 2022, they felt the call to create together again—on stage, in the studio, and in life.
At 76 years young, the Carlsens are proving that reinvention is not only possible—it’s essential. Drawing from nearly 150 years of combined musical influence, their new music blends decades of experience with a modern edge. The result? Songs that defy genre boundaries, rooted in authenticity and powered by purpose.
The album features world-class musicianship and has been mastered at Sterling Sound by Grammy Award-winner Ted Jensen, ensuring both the heart and sonic quality are exceptional. Fans who loved Les’s last record He’s Coming will be blown away—these new tracks are even stronger, capturing energy and emotion that rivals his best work.
By partnering with Girder Records, the Carlsens are ensuring the release receives the full Girder treatment—premium mastering, standout packaging, and collectible-quality production. But this time, they’re inviting fans to help bring it to life through Kickstarter.
To kick things off, the first single “FREE WILL” is now live on all streaming platforms—giving listeners a first taste of what’s to come.
