Album Description
Originally released in 1967, The Doors’ self-titled debut brings together psychedelic rock, blues, and a dark, theatrical edge. Jim Morrison’s vocals, Ray Manzarek’s keyboards, Robby Krieger’s guitar, and John Densmore’s drums give the album its distinctive sound, from the driving opener “Break On Through (To the Other Side)” to the expansive “Light My Fire” and haunting closer “The End.”
Alongside “Soul Kitchen” and “The Crystal Ship,” interpretations of “Alabama Song (Whisky Bar)” and “Back Door Man” showcase the band’s range. This pre-owned US Elektra stereo reissue/repress, catalog number EKS-74007, is a Monarch pressing.
