EZ GOMER of JET CIRCUS HAD THIS TO SAY

35 years! Who would have thought.. Let’s just say it’s a great joy and with a thankful heart that Jet Circus together with the excellent people at Girder Music, can celebrate the 35th Anniversary of “Step On it” with a very special re-release of the album! The History of Jet Circus and the debut, Step on It

Step on It delivered ten tracks of fearless innovation, both heavy and soulful. Ez Gomér’s fuzzy, funk-toned basslines and Terry Haw’s anthemic vocals created an explosive chemistry that was years ahead of its time. Fans expecting power metal were met instead with a hybrid that sounded like Living Colour meets King’s X, filtered through Scandinavian craftsmanship and Christian conviction.

Formed in Gothenburg, Sweden, by former Leviticus members Ez Gomér (bass/vocals) and Terry Haw (vocals/guitar), Jet Circus represented a radical creative break from their earlier band’s melodic metal roots. Where Leviticus was known for its distinct European metal sound and spiritual themes, Jet Circus tore down genre boundaries—fusing hard rock, groove metal, funk, and rap inflections into a sound that was bold, raw, and completely unpredictable.

Ez Gomér had already earned international recognition on Leviticus’ Setting Fire to the Earth (1987) before launching Jet Circus. Alongside Haw, he sought to inject metal with rhythm, groove, and spiritual intensity—culminating in Step on It, a landmark release that pushed Christian hard rock into uncharted territory.

Ez’s musical pedigree extends far beyond Jet Circus. He played bass on  Leviticus - Setting Fire to the Earth as well as Veni Domine - Tongues and carried the Jet Circus vision forward on 2005’s Look at Death Now (Rivel Records), where he handled all songwriting, recording, and production, alongside guests Tommy Denander (Radioactive)Stefan Elmgren (Hammerfall)Michael Ulvsgard (Jerusalem), and Mikkey Dee (Motörhead/Scorpions). He later contributed to Liberty ’N Justice’s Soundtrack of a Soul (2006) with “Kings of Hollywood,” “Wake the Dead,” and “Killer Grin,” featuring members of MotörheadRainbow, and Ratt, and played bass on Veni Domine’s 2007 album Tongues.

Girder Records, a division of Girder Music LLC, is known for its collector-grade reissues of classic Christian rock and metal albums—each receiving The Girder Treatment™: expert remastering, detailed liner notes, and deluxe packaging that honors the music and its legacy.
