DESCRIPTION
WORLDVIEW is a powerhouse Prog Metal band that is made up of veteran musicians Rey Parra of Sacred Warrior, George Rene Ochoa of Recon and Deliverance, Todd Libby and Terry Russell of Holy Soldier. Their album The Chosen Few may be one of the best Progressive Metal releases to come out in 20 years.
In fact, this album is so good that is was given a very rare high 90% rating from Angelic Warlord.
Originally released in 2015 on CD and digital, this album includes star-studded guest appearances from Les Carlson (Bloodgood) Jimmy P. Brown II (Deliverance) Oz Fox (Stryper, Bloodgood) Larry Farkas (Vengeance Rising) - Guitars.
George Ochoa who founded Worldview, gained fame with Recon's 1990 US power metal album "Behind Enemy Lines." He later joined Deliverance, contributing to the iconic "Weapons Of Our Warfare" (1990). Rey Parra started with Sacred Warrior, known for albums like "Rebellion" (1988) and "Master’s Command" (1989). After a long hiatus, Ochoa and Parra reunited in 2013 to form Worldview in memory of their friend Rick Macias. They released "The Chosen Few" in 2015, featuring guest artists like Oz Fox (Stryper) and Les Carlson (Bloodgood).
Worldview combines melodic, power, and progressive metal, distinct from Recon and Sacred Warrior. Their music features rich textures, modern European melodic metal influences, and mature melodies, akin to bands like Kamelot and Masterplan. Notable tracks include "Mortality," "The Last Cry," and "Walk Through Fire," showcasing Parra's refined vocals and Ochoa's dynamic guitar work.
