Product Description

Norwegian progressive metal pioneers Extol return with Aura of Decay, their long-awaited sixth studio album and first new full-length release in 13 years. Known for pushing the boundaries of extreme metal, Extol have built a remarkable legacy by combining the crushing aggression of death and black metal with sophisticated progressive arrangements, intricate musicianship, and breathtaking melodic passages. Aura of Decay brings those elements together in a powerful new chapter that celebrates the band's unmistakable sound while demonstrating why they remain one of the most distinctive forces in progressive metal.

From the relentless intensity of "Shield and Alibi" and the dark, dissonant textures of "Vile Path" to the dynamic arrangements of "Beneath the Dirt" and the atmospheric beauty of "End of Times," the album delivers a captivating balance of brutality and melody. Peter Espevoll's commanding vocal performance moves effortlessly between fierce extreme-metal screams and richly layered clean harmonies, while Christer Espevoll's expressive guitar work, David Husvik's inventive drumming, and Ole Børud's muscular bass lines create a stunning musical foundation. Heavy, technical, melodic, and deeply atmospheric, Aura of Decay is an essential release for fans of progressive death metal and a triumphant return from one of Norway's most respected metal bands.
