Product Description
Originally released in 1976, Desire is Bob Dylan's seventeenth studio album and one of the most compelling and adventurous recordings of his legendary career. Following the critically acclaimed Blood on the Tracks, Dylan returned with an extraordinary collection of storytelling-driven songs blending folk rock, country, blues, and world music influences. Featuring the powerful opening track "Hurricane," the haunting "One More Cup of Coffee (Valley Below)," the epic "Isis," and the beautiful closing ballad "Sara," Desire captures Dylan at his most passionate, poetic, and musically adventurous.
Released on Columbia Records and produced by Don DeVito, Desire features distinctive violin performances by Scarlet Rivera, backing vocals from Emmylou Harris, and contributions from an outstanding group of musicians. Many of the songs were co-written with theater director and songwriter Jacques Levy, resulting in richly detailed narratives filled with unforgettable characters and imagery. The album spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and became one of Dylan's most successful releases of the 1970s. From the politically charged storytelling of "Hurricane" to the emotional intimacy of "Sara," Desire remains an essential addition to any folk rock, classic rock, or vintage vinyl collection.
