Description

If you love Progressing Melodic Rock in the vein of Kansas and John Elefante, then PERFECT VISION is your must have bucket list album for 2024.

This album could have been called The Amazing Grace "Part 2" as it was written by Frank Boxberger who was the man behind John Elefante - The Amazing Grace album that dropped just over a year ago.  Well, Frank and John are at it again on this 12 song progressive melodic rock album in which John Elefante sings on on 6 of the 12 songs. Keep reading this note from Frank and you'll understand more about how this project was birthed and and an unlikely kinship with John. In September 2019, I had written two songs: "City Of Grace" and "Edge of Nowhere"(on the Perfect Vision album).  At that point, I thought to myself, who would I pick if I had first choice of any vocalist in the world to sing these two songs?  I then landed on my favorite singer John Elefante, who I have been listening to from Kansas all the way through his solo career, and quickly decided I wanted John to be the vocalist on both of the songs. I had no real connection to John in anyway, or any common friends.  Later that day I literally got on his fan website and sent an email request to him to see if he would be interested in singing  either of the songs.  He did respond to me and said simply "send me the songs".   I sent them to him, he liked them, and actually called me and indicated he would be in Phoenix Arizona in February 2020.  We then hung out and got to know each other for the next two days while he was in town and went into my home studio and wrote and recorded a song that would eventually appear on his solo album called  "We Will Be Fine"  The pandemic hit about two weeks later and all of his concerts for the year had been canceled which opened up an opportunity to work on an album together, which that song "City Of Grace" appeared on the album that was eventually released in 2022

Within that two-year period we wrote 11 songs together and the album titled "The Amazing Grace" was released in April 2022.

A few months later I was working on my solo album when John called me and wanted to be a part of this album called "Perfect Vision".   It took me about two seconds to agree and we started recording all his vocal tracks on the new album.   I cannot tell you how great it has been to work with John on all of these songs. He really brings my songs to life on this album with his wonderful vocal style.  Like many others around the world, the tragedy of the pandemic brought many of us a great blessings. That is why I named the album "Perfect Vision".  Meaning: To see past the corrupted things of this world and focus on the everyday blessings instead!

Unique for sure. Production was lacking any punch on the band side however.
All in all well crafted songs. Great to hear Johns vocals

Refreshing

Has a guy that grew up with classic rock it's hard for me to like very much new stuff. When I heard that John elephante was on this CD I bought it without listening to any sample tracks. I got on the pre-order list and it was sent out the day they said it was and I was very glad to receive it. I am really impressed with this because it has a great blend of modern rock or harder music with maybe a laid-back synth feel and very spacious vocals and layering. It is well worth buying.

It’s Awesome reminds a lot of Kansas. And a bit of Pink Floyd.
