Awesome

This was the first time I have heard any of this early Petra album when Greg X. Volz first sang with them. It is great to hear their music at this phase of the band and how it transitions in the following years. The quality of the sound on this CD, as with the other Legends of Rock remasters for Petra, is absolutely audibly stellar. The clarity, depth of sound, balance, and fullness is miles better than I have heard on other past release versions I have of all of these albums. The artwork sleeve and info is great and the included card collectible is a nice addition. Great job on these remasters!

Washes Whiter Than may well be Petra's most calm and quiet record, with a lot of acoustic material featuring. But boy is this a special album. Whereas Petra and Come and Join Us had there great moments, this is the first album for me with Petra that every song spoke to me deeply with their messages. The music may be far less sonically booming than later efforts, but the moving and beautiful lyrics and arrangements on this album make it one of my absolute favourites ever. And to be able to hear the album complete, remastered and with gorgeous new inlay covers with actual readable lyrics its like Christmas come early.
Thematically this album to me is all about encouragement. Ballads like Yahweh Love and Deep Love confirm the strength of the Lord's love for us in weakness. While there are still a few rockers like Taste and See and Morning Star. But for me the shining song on this album is Rob Frazier's beautiful "Mary's Song". This is without doubt one of the loveliest Christmas themed songs I've ever been blessed to be moved by.
This album is just so special to me on so many levels, and to be able to enjoy it with sonic improvement (which to say the least is marked) is a real blessing for me and I cant wait to listen to this again and again. This is where Bob Hartman's song writing for Petra really truly took off and cemented itself in my heart of gratitude. I love Petra and thank God for them all.

This was the first Petra album got back when I was in my late pre-teen years. Not of This World had just come out but I had not gotten into rock music yet. When I got Washes Whiter Than I was instantly hooked and played the cassette constantly. Eventually I started listening to the other Petra albums. When I started buying CDs I was disappointed in Star Song releasing the double album and taking off 2 songs. They did this also to the Captured in Time and Space CD by shortening songs or leaving off the bonus song even though it was advertised on the cover. Hopefully Girder can release that CD with all the songs and their total lengths.
It's great to finally have all the songs from Washes Whiter Than on CD. The sound quality is incredible. I will most likely buy more stuff later on.

I am a lifelong Petra fan and I never thought I would see the release of Washes Whiter Than in its entirety on CD. I originally owned the cassette tape and bought the double CD album "Never Say Die/Washes Whiter Than" in the late 80's. I have always felt that Petra's albums should be experienced straight through. No fillers. So much of today's music lacks an album worthy experience. Petra were master's of the album format. Glad to have this one complete on CD for the first time ever! I should also mention, the cover art, booklet, and sound are all first rate!
