British artist/ poet/ songwriter Steve Scott first reached US shores with his critically acclaimed mid 80s album for EXIT Records, Love in the Western World". Since then he has been combining the three P's of poetry, prose, and performance in new and startling ways. "Emotional Tourist", a 15 track retrospective, was released in 2012 for the general market by Arena Rock Recording Company, and draws from two decades of Steve's creative output. The first nine tracks, while all different, set his witty, playful, literate lyrics to an 80s new wave vibe. They include Steve's best known songs, such as the title track from LIWW, Different Kind of Light, written for the 77s, Ghost Train", a crowd-pleaser from Chicago's Cornerstone Festival, and This Sad Music", a fan favorite and the first of SteveÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_?s poetry over ambient music songs. No Memory of You? is drawn from Steve's continuing series of travelog journals known as ‰ۡóÁÌ_́ÌÎÌ_??The Boundaries, and was first released on Mike Knott's legendary Blonde VInyl label. The collection closes with two lesser-known pieces, long, visionary poems penned for an art exhibit. Steve comments on each song in the liner notes of the enclosed eight page booklet, making this CD a great introduction to the many facets of this uniquely creative artist. Players and performers variously include: Larry Norman, Randy Stonehill, Tom Howard, Mark Heard, Charlie Peacock, Steven Soles, Mike Knott, Jimmy Abegg, Steve Griffith, Mark Tootle, Mike Delaney, Mike Roe and the 77s.
