Product Description
Following Girder Records’ 2025 release of Thunder Roars, Ordained returns with Power of Powers, a 12-track album featuring Randy Swingle, Bride vocalist Dale Thompson, and Erik Nelson. Drawing on influences including Bride, Quiet Riot, Krokus, AC/DC, The Rods, and RIOT, the album brings together musicians with a shared commitment to Christian hard rock and metal.
Dale Thompson handles lead vocals, while Randy Swingle contributes rhythm and lead guitars and backing vocals. Tiago James Du Souza of Perpetual Paranoia and Hand of Fire plays lead guitar on 10 of the 12 tracks. Troy Thompson of Bride plays lead guitar on “Bringing the Thunder” and “Cannon Balls.” Both guests appear on “Cannon Balls,” while Erik Nelson plays lead guitar on “Fools Gold,” in addition to his drums and bass contributions.
Power of Powers carries special significance following Erik Nelson’s passing in August 2026 after a battle with cancer. Erik co-produced the album with Randy Swingle and recorded, mixed, and mastered it at Eclipse Studios in Normal, Illinois. His loss is deeply felt, and this release preserves the musicianship and craftsmanship he brought to Ordained.
