If The Imperials and White Heart recorded together in 1985 . . .

If The Imperials and White Heart recorded together in 1985, it would sound like Priority. Paul Smith of the Imperials co-produced it, and Mark Gersmehl co-wrote a song, as did Billy Smiley. Kurt Sullivan (yes the one in 4Him) was the lead vocalist, and there's a whole mix of people working on this thing, including Keith Thomas, White Heart, Bill Gaither Trio and Imperials personnel and other CCM pros. The tenor vocals are produced to sound very Scott Douglas-ish, which pushes that Imperials + White Heart feeling even more.

So the result is a polished early 80's CCM record. Very Imperials-ish in the balance of rockers that don't rock too hard, some ballads, and some really tight harmonies. I don't consider this a must have, but it's really rare -- it was released shortly before Benson's Impact label went belly up. If you like Southern Gospel mixed with lite rock, you'll dig this one. And there's a lot of cool names in the credits if you collect that sort of thing.
