Randy Rose formed the band Mad At The World with his brother Roger Rose in 1985 , this was one of the first Christian Electronic Music releases, and shocked the community with their crazy Depeche Mode-like sounds. Mad at The World released a total of 8 records ranging in sound from electronic to Jellyfish-influenced power pop to The Cult/hard rocking material. Randy soon released 10 records under the his name; then as the band Rose - He is still going strong today in his "Vintique Recording studio" called Rose Studios located near Frisco, Texas. He is also an Indie Record label owner of Hindenburg Records - His studio features a super rare 1970's Auditronics 501 Desk called the "Son Of A 36 Grand" Patrick Carney of the Black Keys uses this exact same console at his new studio - He is a Singer/Songwriter/Engineer/Producer/Guitar Player/Drummer - in the early 2000's after Mothership ( another sole release ) Randy also worked on other projects in order to experiment with different musical styles than what he had previously done with Mad at the World and his metal band Rose. In 1995, Randy worked on a side project called Mood Ring, and he released the song "Mood Ring" on a R.E.X. compilation that year. In 1997, Randy released a 7" vinyl record of rockabilly songs using the band name The Crocodiles. This release titled Black Tar contained the songs "Grease" and "In Your Arms." Also in 1997, Randy formed Mothership (briefly named Saturn Project) with cousin Danny Rose and released an album titled L.P. that contained ethereal synth music. In 2002, Randy abandoned the synthpop sound and continued his band Mothership into the realm of alternative rock. The subsequent album Rockstar is often compared with the style of Weezer, The Vines, and The Strokes.
