Product Description
Originally released in 1980, Glass Houses is Billy Joel's seventh studio album and one of the most energetic and commercially successful releases of his legendary career. Moving away from the jazz-influenced arrangements of 52nd Street, Joel embraced a harder-edged rock sound inspired by the emerging new wave movement, delivering an unforgettable collection of piano-driven rock anthems, infectious melodies, and sharp, witty songwriting. Featuring classics such as "You May Be Right," "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me," "Don't Ask Me Why," and "Sometimes a Fantasy," the album captures Billy Joel at the height of his creative powers.
Released on Columbia Records and produced by Phil Ramone, Glass Houses spent six consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and became one of Joel's signature albums. The record earned Joel a Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance and helped solidify his reputation as one of America's greatest singer-songwriters. From the crashing glass opening of "You May Be Right" to the irresistible hooks of "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me," this classic 1980 release is an essential addition to any classic rock, pop rock, or vintage vinyl collection.
